Boudoir Body Image Talks: Boudoir Photography Doesn't Require Lingerie

Delaware boudoir photographer

As a Delaware boudoir photographer, I've discovered that every client has a different relationship with their body. Some are comfortable enough to go completely nude in the middle of the forest. And some are interested in a session where they stayed completely dressed the whole time.

Here's the thing: you do not need to wear lingerie to take boudoir photos.

Understanding Boudoir from the Perspective of a Delaware Boudoir Photographer

All of our journeys with self-acceptance are different. And our cultures, upbringings, and instilled values all inform our relationship with our bodies.

We all experience that feeling of looking sexy in different ways. Some people will feel sexy covered head to toe in a gorgeous gown with their hair and make up professionally done. And some people feel sexy when they're stripped down completely.

And you know what? They're both right.

I don't approach photography from the male gaze. My sessions don't require you to wear underwear in front of me.

If you want a session where you're completely nude, I'm happy to work with you. But I'm just as happy to work with you if you want to stay clothed.

Boudoir photography isn't about how much clothing you're wearing. It's feeling sexy, gorgeous, and empowered. However you achieve that feeling is completely up to you.

For one of my self-portrait sessions, I wore a lingerie top, a bra, and pants. I felt absolutely incredible, and I felt comfortable. And that's what enabled me to feel confident.

Confidence is an essential component to being as sexy as possible. And that's why I provide an environment that makes you feel safe.

Take the Next Step in Your Self Love Journey

Want to talk more with me about what your dream session would look like? Let's talk!

I always meet with my clients on the phone before booking. Even though phone anxiety is real and valid, it's important for us to get to know each other and talk in depth about how I can make this session perfect for you. Talking about your body insecurities isn't something that should take place on a communication form as callous as email.

So let's talk! Go to calendly.com/stillpoetryphotography to schedule a time to talk with me.

I can't wait to meet you!

With love,

Sarah
