As a Delaware family photographer, the number one most asked question I get after a session is where clients should take their family to eat. What are the best restaurants in Delaware to take a family?
I understand why recommendations are needed! At a session, chasing your kids around and asking them to smile is a lot of work. You’re all going to be hungry afterward. And if you have an evening session during the summer, we usually schedule photoshoots around 5:00 or 6:00 pm to get the best lighting. That means it’s definitely dinner time once we wrap up on the beach. To help you out, here are the 15 best restaurants in Delaware to grab some food with your family after you finish up your Delaware family photography session.
In Lewes
Sarah's favorite location for Delaware beach family photography is Cape Henlopen. As a result, families are in Lewes when they finish up their shoot. Here are the best places to take your family after your shoot wraps up in Lewes.
Family friendly, dog friendly, and great food! This is a personal favorite and perfect for families of all sizes.
2. Kindle
For adults with small, older families, Kindle is a great option. If you have a bunch of young kids in tow, you might want to go somewhere else. The restaurant is small, quiet, and upscale.
They have exceptional service and a great menu full of options. Make sure to save room for dessert!
Irish Eyes is a large bar and restaurant that can accommodate your group with great food and drinks.
Want dinner and a show? This is the perfect spot! Kids will love the entertainment, and who doesn’t love hibachi?

I think this restaurant is towards the top of the list for best restaurants in Delaware - like, all of Delaware. Cooter Brown’s offers something for everyone! From the kids menu to the adult beverages, I guarantee everyone will find something they love. It is one of my favorite spots in the heart of Rehoboth.
In Bethany and Dewey
Bethany and Dewey are great family photoshoot locations over the summer. Both give off that small-town feel while still offering all the sun, sand, and waves you could want. If you’re hungry after your shoot and need Bethany or Dewey Beach restaurants, these are the go-to spots.
Seafood, chicken, burgers, and beer… What more could you want?
Italian food in a homestyle setting is the perfect way to end your day after running around on the beach.
This is the best BBQ I have had in Bethany. I even heard that the kids' meals come served on a frisbee! How fun is that?!
11. Rusty Rudder
Watch the sunset on the large outdoor deck with your entire family while eating and drinking all that Rusty Rudder has to offer.
There is a reason why this is called the locals’ favorite spot – great food and atmosphere await you at Woody’s! Try the crab cakes… you won’t be disappointed.
